Do you know (or know anyone who might) what the proper methods would be to report this to LiveJournal and/or sixapart? A support request or abuse report doesn't seem right if it's not actually affected you yet, but I'm pretty sure that, since this basically violates one of LJ's basic structures, LJ or Sixapart might want to/be willing to threaten legal action or some such.

I'm pretty sure I saw a post where LJ Abuse was already on the task. SOmeone named "Scott" was involved somehow.

Ah, really? Good, that was fast. [nods] I figured LJ/Sixapart wouldn't be happy with a company that seemed intentionally devised to break apart the original setup/concept of LJ. *g*

No, I saw another post entirely, but also saw the one you point to there. It could be (rather likely, actually) that I'm conflating the two, since I thought that the letter you link to in that post was signed by someone-not-Scott.

Unfortunately I suck at remembering names. The Scott thing was only slightly memorable because I once had a boyfriend of that name.

*looks for the post* Hmmm.. should have bookmarked it. I was noodling around on friendsfriends, and it's scrolled too far back to find, anymore. I'm sorry I'm not more useful. I didn't really think much of it, at the time. ANd even with all the kerfufflage going around on this, I've yet to see anyone say "Oh? I thought frienditto was a good idea!"
