My fandom loves:
Pirates of the Caribbean has my soul.
Because I swirl hither and yon and can't leave it, because the sea calls to me and the freedom beckons, because every single time Jack's chin rises and the wind rises and the music soars, every single *damn* time, my soul rises too...
Trigun has my heart.
Because you have the "My enemy is my friend is my enemy", you have the loveable dork, you have the cynical jaded one, you have the backstabbing, you have the joy, you have the crazyness, you have the angst, you have the two people who just is not able to completely disconnect no matter the external circumstances and who work in beautifully, beautifully in sync with a heartbreaking about of trust and! You have almost canon ressurrection!fic.
Once Upon a Time in Mexico has my brain.
How can I not? Mythology and pathology and psychology intertwined and delivered with a side of skull fuck. You have the mysticism and superhuman willpower. You have the endless characterization and endless loopholes to play around with. You have the dust and the grit and the blood smeared flat and you just *have* to look away and you just *have* to keep on looking.
Cowboy Bebop has my stomach.
So freaking hilarious and so well written and so complete and such a full world and it can't be anything else, it can't and there's so much Spike should have done but he can't because of how everything played out, because of who everyone else is, because of who *he* is. (Bang.) ::wibbles::
Harry Potter has my kink.
Okay, if the polyjuice don't cut it, if the size issues don't cut it, if the weapon's kink and BDSM and torture!fic and slave!fic and chan and Dumbledore!smut and Snape/Hagrid and beastiality STILL does not convince you of this choice...really. The enchanted broomstick smut has to. Or that one fic of Ron with a spoon...
Dragonball Z has my nerve endings.
::covers eyes::...I'm sorry. I think it might be the size difference thing. And some of the smut, even badly written, just...works. ::shivers:: heh. Y'know that one picture I posted the other day of Vejita? Yeah. There's more utterly drop dead droolworthy pictures out there, permaently singed onto the back of my retina's, thank god thank god...
Smallville has my tear ducts.
'Cause they are so doomed. So. Doomed. And I cannot stop watching it because they are so beautiful doomed and I want to deny it and I do but it's dreams and it's beautiful but it fails and Lex tries *so* hard and Clark is *such* a dumbass and if he could only *see* but he *can't* and it's just. WAH.
Saiyuki has my squee.
Three words: Canon resurrection fic. And it has pairings with Issues, but their Issues *match* and they clink together and are made stronger. And it's *all* about the characterizations and all the cliches get molested, then nailed through the bed and then finds 50 new positions, and it's just as subtexty as Smallville if not more, and they are all So. Fucked. Up. But in a good way.
But Pirates of the Caribbean has my soul.
