Listen to me, luv, it wasn’t like that!” Sparrow perched on the bow and turned to take her in with a glance, “She didn’t mean anything, and you know it, was a dalliance, only!”

Sparrow paced down the length of the decks. “You’re the only one able to match me. The only one I−” he broke off and caressed a railing.

But his hand paused, consideringly.

The boom caught him off guard and slammed into his face.

Gibbs watched his captain pick himself up. He wondered what Sparrow meant by ‘not deserving that.’
