Updated my site with the recent wallpapers, tell me if the links don't work, yeah?

[edit] OUaTiM wallpaper link should be fixed...

[]

[livejournal.com profile] inkbug has posted a picture of Antonio Banderas with black nail polish on his toes.

::blinkity::

however, [livejournal.com profile] z_rayne pointed out that:
"Y'all do realize that many of Antonio's early (foreign) movies pretty much qualify as soft-core gay porn, right? Right?"

...which, really, explains some things.

however, I'm still in a state of a;ds;edjfr;alskjrhorf!!!11!1 at the concept.

I think I need more visual aides.

::peers around:: screenshots??

anyone?

[edit] [livejournal.com profile] franzeska has posted summaries of Almodóvar's films because, as she says,
"Whether you think he's stunningly hot or stunningly hilarious, you should really see him with 80's hair taking it up the ass from Eusebio Poncela."

Personally, I'm stuck between finding him hot and hilarious *simultaneously* which majorly confuses my brain, but hey. ::shrugs:: still won't prevent me from hunting down those movies...

and btw? ya'll ROCK.

Sorry, a little too occupied going guh over prettypretty Antonio thoughts.

Meant to say the link for See You in Matzatlan didn't work for me.
Tuesday, November 4th, 2003 12:22 pm (UTC)
I couldn't get Matzatlan to work either.

Strangely disturbed by Antonio in black nail polish... not sure if that's good disturbed or bad disturbed...

not sure if that's good disturbed or bad disturbed...

There is a guy at work from South American (where entirely I'm not sure) and he laughed at me when I was talking about Antonio and pretty much said the same thing. Then he TAUNTED ME by saying he HAD old movies with Antonio in them but he GAVE THE TAPES AWAY TO HIS SISTER.

*pokes him* Damn you Sergio!!!!!!

I like to think of Antonio as Soft-Serve Gay Ice Cream. Feel free to quote me on that. mmmmm.
Wednesday, November 5th, 2003 12:31 pm (UTC)
well if you're going to, i'd better as well. ;P don't forget the hyphen.
Thursday, November 6th, 2003 02:07 pm (UTC)
done and done. i added "soft-serve gay ice cream" and "antonio banderas" to my interests list.

*sighhhh*

i should add "raping and pillaging" as well as "eye gouging"

"Y'all do realize that many of Antonio's early (foreign) movies pretty much qualify as soft-core gay porn, right? Right?"

*dies* Oh God, really? Well then, in that case, it shouldn't be too hard to convince him to co-star with Johnny Depp in Quentin Tarantino's porn debue.

*considers statement again, dies a second time* No wonder so many of his movies are vaguely slashy. I. Must. Find. One. Of. These. Films. Solely in the interest of broadening my cultural horizons, of course. I don't watch nearly enough foriegn films.

"Solely in the interest of broadening my cultural horizons, of course. I don't watch nearly enough foriegn films."

Oh yes. And we believe you. Totally.

I, of course, am only ever interested in the quality of the acting when I watch a film.... *polishes halo*

Oh god! *brainoverload*

Banderas in El mode starring with Johnny in a Tarantino slash movie... having seen my first Tarantino movie only last night this brings a whole new set of vivid and wonderfully disturbing images into my mind...

Violent and hot and very, very bad indeed...

*guh* Struggling to concentrate on work here...

Definately the rum. I hate tequila *dodges bullet from Sands* and all drinks made with tequila. And I'm not even going to discuss mescal (there are worms in the bottle. worms). *dodges more bullets. Stands very still and tries not to make target-pinpointing noise*

Rum, on the other hand, can be poured over bananas and set on fire.

*glares* I'm supposed to be writing here. Instead, you have me looking at IMDB...

Apparently in Antonio's first movie ever, Labyrinths of Passion by Almodovar, he played a gay islamic terrorist. In La Ley del deseo, also by Almodovar, Antonio played a gay equivalent of a femme fatale, first seeking out and tormenting the (male) true love of his (male) lover, then taking up with the lover's transgendered sister; reviews mention tasteful explicit sex scenes here...

*goes off to find when the next Almodovar movie marathon is and whether she can blackmail the organizers into showing those two*

lovelovelove almodavar...and wasn't it tie me up, tie me down that caused the US to introduce the nc-17 rating (to stand between r and x, though many won't carry the nc-17 either)?

though my quintessential banderas moment is in the madonna movie...well, there's of course the gayest movie ever *g*

nice pics, btw :-) thanks!

Ohhhh yes, I remember fondly! My best friend at Uni kept dragging me into each and every Almodovar film. I have even fonder (more vivid!) visual memories of one of the ones she had on video (can't remember which one) with Banderas' lovely legs up in the air. Hmmm.... thanks for reminding me... have to ask her which one it was. :-)

with Banderas' lovely legs up in the air

I was going to mention that specifically in my comment, but then I thought "maybe that'd make me look too shallow." [g] But yeah, vivid memories of that particular scene.

Shit. I think my DVD budget just doubled. Amazon better have copies in region codings that I can play. Must also find that one movie where Depp plays a Cuban crossdresser.

Before Night Falls, I believe. *nod*

Ah yes, Almodóvar, maker of fine drugged out gay movies. He tends to recycle his casts, and luckily for us, this means lots and lots of Banderas weirdness. Also luckily for us, he's famous, so you should be able to find some of his movies in pretty much any city.

Laberinto de pasiones: Crazy gay terrorist who can find people by smell, unless he's in love in which case he can only smell the guy he's in love with (Oh, you thought he was just a gay terrorist? Silly you! That would be far too normal for Almodóvar.) Also features "Sexilia", a wacky nymphomaniac

Matador: Would-be bull fighter who faints at the sight of blood; obsessed with bull fighting teacher to the point of stalkerish obsession; stalking facilitated by cheesy psychic powers (Though when he tries to take the blame for all the serial killing going on, you really have to laugh)

La ley del deseo: Latent homosexual who becomes not so latent with his celebrity crush. Then he goes nuts. More stalking. My favorite scene is the reunion of the transsexual sister and the priest she knew as a choir boy.

Mujeres al borde de un ataque de nervios: Wimpy philandering guy, gets to date that chick who looks exactly like a Picasso. It's a great film, but I don't think Banderas did much... though I may just not remember it well.

Átame!: Perverted stalker who's obsessed with an ex-porn star who's trying to get off of heroin... Luckily for him, she's a total weirdo too, so it ends much more happily than most movies about stalkers who kidnap their crushes and tie them to beds.

Those are all the ones I remember offhand. I'm really more of an Almodóvar fan than a Banderas one. The director has a number of other films, many of them also rather perverted.

AHAHAHAHAHAHA ohmyGOD. This hurts.

I must own these ALL.

Oh God. *chokes with laughter* Thank you. Thank you. Reading those summaries was just what I needed after a two hour Irish Literature exam. You just made my entire day.

it ends much more happily than most movies about stalkers who kidnap their crushes and tie them to beds
Yeah, normally those sort of films end in tears and bloodshed. This one, I presume, ends with hot, kinky bondage sex?

So, I'm working on finding pics from Law of Desire

This is the best so far:

Yes Antonio, I agree. *snorts with laughter*
Tuesday, November 4th, 2003 08:50 pm (UTC)
I do so love getting just punctuation from you. *grins*

(Yes, I am spamming you. Mwaha.)

Shame the other guy's bloody ugly.
Tuesday, November 4th, 2003 09:59 pm (UTC)
OH MAN.

So, there's a gay porn film with the same title.

In the high rise, high strung world of criminal law, they have very effective methods for dealing with stress. They just bone the hell out of each other!

O_O
Tuesday, November 4th, 2003 08:37 pm (UTC)
Dude!!!!!!!

I talked to the guy at work about the Antonio movies, and he said he "might have some on tape" and also that they will "ruin your image of Antonio Banderas" and also that they were "disgusting."

And i told him I'd borrow them from him if he could find any, and tape them.

And then he said he'd see what he could do. so, naturally, if i do end up getting my hands on these movies, it goes without saying that i will tape them for any of you sick perverts who want to see them. :D

NO WORDS. NONE.

*dies*

Am thanking the Goddess madly that I don't have a crush of any kind on Mr Banderas! Or I'd never get any writing done! *giggling madly too*
