I think I have an icon like that somewhere.
Vash has really terrible aim...

Still tho, I love how posessive they both are, and how Wolfwood's holding out Vash's gun and all like, "this? just *try* to take it from me, I *dare* ya"

Can you fill me in on the basics of Trigun? I've been trying to catch the episodes on Adult Swim, but I'm hopelessly lost and therefore lose interest easily, even though it looks good. :(

General overview of the first 5 episodes is to display how Vash the Stampede is a feared gunman who decimates cities. However, he is also a donut-loving goofball with who loves to be overdramatic and gets slapped/kicked/rejected by girls alot. You meet Meryl Stryfe (short asian) and Milly Thompson (tall blond), who are Insurance Company agents who are trying to track Vash the Stampede down so that they can attempt to curb the collateral damage that occurs too frequently around him, mostly by accident...(will continue with the next set in next comment)

People try to chase Vash down for the bounty on this head ($$60 billion), collateral damage happens. You see how valuable human life is to him, you see how people fear him, you see him open various cans of whoop-ass. He drinks a lot sometimes. He talks to power plants. There's flashbacks of something, and a girl tries to kill him (by setting off the power plant, though Vash calms the plant down) because she was in the city that you keep hearing that Vash destroyed. Vash admits that he might've destroyed the city, he doesn't remember. The girl eventurally realizes that Vash was the same one that comforted/saved her in that city when she was a little girl. You see various cases of Vash's honor, you also see Vash up and leaving a town without saying goodbye (people are pissed)...

anyhoo:
Everyone's in a bus rolling across the desert, Vash sees a flash a light and it turns out to be from the buckles on a cross that some guy is leaning against. He smiles widely, drinks Vash's water, and makes a bit of an ass of himself when he finds out who Vash is. He introduces himself, to Vash and Vash only, as Nicholas D. Wolfwood, and then makes a bit more of an ass of himself.
The bus stops for a pitstop, there's a mom and two kids who are hungry. Wolfwood goes and offers the kids two of his meal bars, he turns to see Vash watching him, and he mentions that he's relieved that Vash can smile without being fake, and mentions that he see's pain in Vash's eyes. He then breaks the mood by offering Vash use of his portable confession box, with just a small donation of course.
There's a noise, they go see, someone's hurt and there's these huge machines that are shooting at people. Everyone piles into the bus and they drive off. The mom from before suddenly stands up and everyone realizes that one of the kids from before (that Wolfwood offered his meal bar to) is missing. Both Vash and Wolfwood leap off the bus. They look at each other in astonishment in a "why the fuck did YOU, mister shady person, leap off the bus for a little girl" kinda way. Vash points out that Wolfwood has no weapon (wolfwood makes a comical face), Vash then tosses him a knife.
The preacher man can kick ass and dodge bullets("Nice dancing" says Vash); the preacher man watches Vash kick ass ("Nice support" says Wolfwood). Eventually they hit a sink hole ("How embarrassing" says the little girl).
They're in a sunken plant, lost technology with an overactive defense system. They wander a bit, then take a break, Wolfwood splits his meal bar, unevenly with more for him, ("hey!" says Vash, "Oh so you don't want it?" asks Wolfwood, "I didn't say THAT." says Vash). They get to the main area, Vash hands his gun to Wolfwood who protests that he's never shot a gun before but does a quick blessing on the both of them. Vash leaps down off the walkway, Wolfwood provides support from above, oh hey, lookit, the guy can shoot...
Wolfwood eventually runs out of bullets, Vash concentrates...
the machines stop. Wolfwood looks down at Vash, who's left hand is smoking. He later asks how Vash did that. ("Mercy of God" Vash says with a insipid look, Wolfwood looks disbelieving)
The ceiling crashes down on them, we see Meryl and Milly looking down on them. ("bad timing" the boys mutter, they look in pain)...
er...
yeah, there's spoiler territory the farther I go on...how detailed/spoilery do you want it??
