I stumbled onto this manga and just...::HEARTS::

Wherein a noble girl/schoolteacher whose family got destitute has aspirations of being a civil worker only to be DENIED, also, did I mention that her her family desperately needs money?

Wherein you have an lazy Emperor with a habit of sleeping around with his male servants and hiding from his job.

...and then there's the scheming, wherein the girl is hired by the Emperor's advisor to be the Emperor's concubine, but really, to force him to study and be awesome. And you know, she thinks the concubine bit is fine, 'cause he's gay right? (Right?)

lol.

I love all of the characters, they're all either adorable or hilarious or both (frequently both). It runs through aLOT of plot despite only being four volumes at the moment, the concubine arc was wrapped up at vol 2 to my surprise and delight; pretty artwork, world is a vague mishmash of chinese and japanese culture. It doesn't really have a harem situation (ie. 1 person being chased by 20 other people), and certain characters are interestingly broken.

Also I just...it amuses me that half my brain considers half of japanese het to be femmeslash. In that way, it's almost like the slash that's in the manga is het. Sorta.

Heh.

Also, alas, this fandom is miniscule. But at least this appears to be an ongoing series...
