on The Shining

So was watching The Shining for the first time getting majorly scared and then there was a fursuiter giving a blow job to the butler.

Fursuiters are the ones that dress up in the outfits.

whoa, major freshman-year-college flashback. we rewound and paused at that scene just to make sure we weren't all experiencing a mass hallucination. nope, it really was there. never did figure it out, though.
There were also debates whether it was a dog or a hamster costume...

Apparently it's a reference to something that's in the book (because apparently a lot of the 'old guests' show up in the book or something?) that made perfect sense there, but in the movie, it's just a freaky shock reference that you only get if you DID read the book.

...I haven't read the book OR seen the movie, but I distinctly recall a friend enthusing on this to me, so. xD

I am just a random passerby, but oh GOD. I remember that was one of the scenes that scarred me the most, if only for the "WTF-factor".

I've seen the The Shining about eight times XD--can't get over the creepy scariness that is Jack Nicholson--and I have never understood that scene. If anyone explains it, put it at the bottom of a post so that the rest of us can see it?

Also, I first saw the movie on a broken TV set that turned everything slightly green. When the elevators opened, we were all screaming, "PEA SO~~UP!"
