I don't think I've ever heard Sinhalese before, which actually would be interesting, 'cause do their language derive more from India or from Indonesia and the other islands?

Assupmtions here, but I would say Indian. Considering the tamil people who live in Sri Lanka are directly from India, I'd assume the same for the Sinhalese. Besides, they are right at the tip of India, I doubt it's hard to reach 0.o

And... I really want too... All I know right now is self taught.

Wikipedia says that Sinhala is Indo-Aryan while Tamil is Dravidian.
