"Our source texts are TV shows and movies: visual media. And we analyze them. We natter on at length, in fact. The beautiful and fickle thing about SGA is that most of the "text" of SGA exists in it's visuals, and not as "text" itself.
Yes, but I think we mostly talk about them *as texts*."

"Music speaks. It's words are notes and tones. It has syntax; it has phrases, and the musical phrases have subjects and objects."...which, yes. And also puts into words vid meta that I've been struggling to figure out how to phrase for awhile now; when I'm vidding in essay-format (ie. rhetorical form, argumentative form, linear form) there are usually specific places where you can sense that the "cause" has to be placed and then the "effect" right after, and these places usually correspond to the "subject" and "object" parts of music, "call" and "response". Or some such.

From Green To Green
I, in this darkness,
am imagining a bright lamb
who comes to graze
on the grass of my exhaustion
I, in this darkness,
see the wet extension
of my arms under a rainfall,
that rain which drenched the first prayers of man
I, in this darkness,
opened the door to ancient meadows,
to goldens
upon the wall of myth,
whereon we feasted our eyes.
I, in this darkness
say roots--and for the new growth
on the bush of death
I expressed:"water"

This is really cool. I want to start vidding myself, but I have no idea where to start. Imo, there is only so much you can learn; you still have to have that 'vid feel' and I'm afraid I lack that. Severely.
And I love the rhythm in the poem. Pretty.

'vid feel' is to a certain extent aquired. Perhaps listen alot to music first? Usually, when I set out to make a vid, I totally don't know what it's gonna look like except for certain sections, and then it usually morphs on me. Vidding itself is a process of discovery...
