Okay, so this might be me going off the super-excited end, buuuuut, lookit!

eHow: Clear Instructions on How To Do (just about) Everything

It's a How-To Wiki!!!

Remember way back when when we were talking about getting a vidding wiki up, because it was a far too muti-pronged situation for any one site/person to be able to keep up with all the changes/innovations/problems-people-run-into?

Can we just use their engine to host vidding information you think? Have any ideas on possible pro's/con's? (It's far too late for me to be coherent/logical, so have at.)

[edit] aww, this:

"post or transmit any Content that infringes a third party's intellectual property rights, including but not limited to, trademarks, copyrights, patents, rights of publicity or rights of privacy;"

from the Terms of Use probably negates the idea.

Thoughts?

It had to do with the settings once the actual wiki was up and running.

You protected the pages and gave people permissions on an individual basis. They'd log in and could see things, but anyone not logged in (or who didn't have a login) couldn't see anything but the pages you left unprotected—the LOGIN PAGE needs to be one of those (because wow, that was a mistake I remember making *koff*).

How you do all of this might depend on the particular version of wiki you install; I haven't looked at DreamHost's version at all, but I'm sure it's got some kind of reference wiki for it.
