Notes: It's been awhile since I've let myself cut loose on the cutting, partially because I've been experimenting in style and effect and partially 'cause I was testing my threshold of pain/irritation with not molesting every beat. This vid felt like a sigh of relief after all that, what with the massive beat-whoring, finally getting the RAM able to handle the type of vid I've been wanting to make, and finding SGA. Which, just...::waves vaguely at old meta posts:: yeah.

Oh, and there's like huge numbers of things I tried to say about Elizabeth and Atlantis in the vid, all mixed up together, so there are a very many equally valid interpretations of the vid. Hell, I'm not even sure of all the things I put in there, but I'm very curious as to what themes or stories or impressions that those watching the vid might get, so don't be afraid to tell me what you think!

(I would recommend using VLC Player to play the vid, it's free, or you can look at this guide. Also, apparently there's a compatibility problem with playing the vid in Quicktime.)

Notes part 2: The wierd and uncomfortable feeling that occurs before the music starts? That's on purpose; it was my goal that Atlantis is creepy and uncomfortable and wrong...until the expedition came, woke it up, and let it breathe.

Totally agree with you on lack-of-time issues, I'd barely had a chance to talk to sisabet and she was my vid mommy. ::shamefaceSHAME::

Actually, there was in general less shop-talk than I'd expected, and I don't know if it was because that's the general structure of VVC or if I was just in the wrong place for it. What I was really looking forward to was maybe like a roundtable of fellow vidders to bitch about vids to and maybe pick vidder's brains about neat tips and tricks and share my own in return. Did that exist and I totally didn't read the program right for it? 'cause I'd suggested a "walking people through versions of a vid" thing at the dead dog but apparently it'd already existed and Heres_Luck did it; I thought, reading the program, that she was just going to talk about what her and her betas did.

I really enjoyed this vid. I'm not a big Elizabeth fan, but what I see in your vid is how much she cares about this mission, the people on it and the city of Atlantis. You show that much better than the show does, and it makes me see Elizabeth in a different way. Thank you for sharing it!

I'd like to rec this vid on my recs lj oceanas_recs in one of my next updates, if you don't mind. (though, it could be a while until I update. Real life, I curse you.)

I have this huge collection of vids on my harddrive, that I downloaded from all over the place, but I usually don't have time to watch vids when I download them. Today I finally found the time to watch a few. I guess it was recced by someone on my flist when it was new, but I can't remember who it was, sorry.

I know you made this video ages ago, but I wanted to compliment you on your work. Really, this is the best video I've seen in this fandom. Even thought I'm not an Elizabeth fan, whatever you did works. And the eyeball! Plus, the music is gorgeous. I found the music from the Boondock Saints soundtrack, I'd gotten into vidding after I'd found the song and knew that I'd vid it eventually. I'm glad now that I'd waited until SGA to vid it. =)

And I'm so glad that you find the vid inspiring! That causes me awe and delight because I find myself inspired by certain vids so I'm glad that mine did that for you!

I actually downloaded this a while ago and the rec from thisdoesntsuck reminded me that I never got around to comment *hangs head in shame*, even though I love the vid, so I wanted to rectify that.
