Notes: So the funny thing was, the bulk this vid was made during spring break and sat on for forever 'cause I knew that VVC submission time was going to be insane for because of auction vid. Showed my betas and then mulled over their suggestion for way too long...in the process moving my source to my external harddrive thinking I could pull it from there.

HAH: external drive decided to crap out on me and not give me back any of my files. Deadline was coming and I despaired of turning in anything. But see, this vid was one of those that ATE THE BRAIN.

So in the end, I gave up, gave in, and fixed up the pre-end sequence with altered clips from within the vid itself, such as brightening and reversing and flipping clips, so that instead of looking away from her, he keeps turning back and looking back all longingly...awwww! ahem. =D

I'm probably not remastering this, though I wouldn't be surprised if I take this out to tweak it in ways that no one will ever notice but me 'cause it's my silly little baby like that.

Aaaaand...I'm an idiot. I deleted my previous comment because I belatedly realized that if you do have a website that isn't linked from your LJ, you might not want the site and LJ connected. So, let me rephrase my question: do you have a site for vids that isn't linked from this LJ? I'm having Downloading Issues with this vid, and so I'm double-checking to make sure that this isn't one I've already downloaded elsewhere.

I really loved this vid. I've never seen the movie (I know of it, and had a vague sense of what it was about, but for some reason never felt the need to watch it) but I fell in love with the way you told the story. And the vid is so visually-rich, and the repeated motifs (people vanishing, crumbling house) kept taking my breath away.

Anyway, I just bought the song on iTunes, and I'm about to add the movie to my Netflix queue. Thank you for this vid.

oh wow! First I'm thankful and awed that you liked the vid enough to get both the song and the movie. I'm really glad this vid seemed to work for people as I sorta sent it in last minute-ish when lierdumoa stressing over her Girl Anachronism vid reminded me that I really should perhaps submit something to Premieres and I really sorta just expected a lukewarm reaction to it. ::hugs:: thank you so much for this feedback. =)

Yay! I love the movie and the song, and they work so well together in the vid. It really does seem like a great way to pimp people into the movie. You chose some of the most visually arresting images, and cut them together in a way that reflects the energy and excitement I felt when I first saw the movie and thought, "Wow, this is awesome stuff." It makes me want to watch it all over again.
