I'm actually glad the subtext came through. :) I'm trying to be very subtextual in the setup chapters, so it's not a huge surprise when I get slashy. It is, actually, a slash fic. But I'm playing dynamics a little longer yet...

The movie itself has some homoerotic subtext involving Sands, just slipped right on in there. "Sometimes a revolution is exactly what is needed to clean up the citizens. One... giant enema. Which just so happens to be my area of expertise." and, of course, having found what he needed but opting to violate the dead Belini anyway--"You're about a quart low." which means he knows what the running average is... Heck, I could even cast some psychosexual analysis on making other men eat his pork all the time...

Of course, as the Japanese mastered in their stories long ago, there is *nothing* more scary than a psychopathic bisexual. A male audience reacts strongly to subtle homoeroticism on the part of the villian, because a male that not only is very powerful, and shows sexual prowess with attractive females that the men envy, but might go beyond killing them to preying on them sexually? That's a guy's worse nightmare. Hmm... Man, I could write my college thesis on that topic.

no, that's the character vid I'm planning. *that* IS gonna happen. It's just that I *still need to finish these three other vids I've started already...and a pairing vid? And of Sands/El?? ::throws up hands in the air:: I'm sorry but I didn't see the subtext in the movie; of course, that doesn't stop me from slashing them but it's gonna making vidding it tricky.

However I think I *might* be able to get around it...

bleh. I'm not sure if it's a good thing or not that at this point I can't vid OUaTiM at all because I can't find the copy online...

OH NO, I HAVE TO MAKE A T-SHIRT BEFORE TOMORROW. I want a T-shirt to wear at the anime con this weekend that says on the left breast on the front "CIA Agent Sheldon Jeffery Sands" and on the back has a pick of Sands and his pork and the words "Just put it in your mouth and tell me if you like it." That's too perverted to wear anywhere but a convention. Darn! I need a pic! ::asks the comm for a pic::will have to look when she's actually home::

I haven't found a complete pirated version of OUaTiM yet although I've seen a couple incomplete copies. If I manage to get my mitts on one I'll hook you up. (Pirates of the Caribbean DVD is out December 2nd, meanwhile. Not only deleted scenes, but a blooper reel! XD I'm excited! We can see how many times Johnny hit Orlando during filming... ("So sorry, mate! Are you alright!? ::run to check!!::" "^___^;;Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah.") Johnny doesn't need to be given sharp objects. AND A COMMENTARY WITH DEPP AND VERBENSKI. I have never been so excited about a DVD release, ever.)

I have never been so excited about a DVD release, ever.

I know! Hell, it's the first DVD I bought for myself, as well as the first movie I *willingly* saw in theaters more than once. Insane I tell you...

hee! umm, for one thing: my family's kinda really odd so I've never *got* the concept of a healthy aunt/nephew relationship. For another, I've been really really desquicked by the HP fandom and incest doesn't really bother me (hell, I *wrote* one).

huh. ::ponder:: I think the only squick I really still somewhat have is the original meaning of "squick". As in the sound made when...erm...fucking brain matter.
