I have never been raped, but I have friends who have been and you know what?

They are still strong.

They are still strong, and still intelligent, and still beautiful.

And they are blameless.

And I will never hold their rape against them and I would never stand let them stand alone.

I am proud to know these survivors of sexual violence.
Let there be No Pity. No Shame. And No Silence.

You know, that's pretty much my situation. I haven't made a post, because it's not something that's happened to me, but three of my closest friends have gone through it, and, yeah...

*nods* Word. All of those posts have driven it in to me how lucky I am that no similar experience has ever happened to me--because it can and does happen to anyone. And I'm proud of all of the people who have come forward to talk about it, because I don't know that I'd have that much courage.
