There...is a problem.

See, I went on a retreat for this weekend and came back and...

Vash is missing.

Wait, lemme clarify: Vash, my goldfish, is missing.

I would understand if Vash decided to go belly up. I would be peeved, but I would understand. [Wolfwood died before him and it was only a matter of time after all ;)]

But, see, there was no body.

No. Body.

Words cannot expressed how utterly confused I am...

[update]

It was in a pan, no filters; and I've checked behind the desk, no body.

[update2]

Checked through the paperwork on the desk. No fish. Windows were closed, so it couldn't have flown or flipped out.

Going to check the fridge...wish me luck.

[update3]

checked fridge AND freezer.

no fish.

::is stumped::

[update4]

...and here's the thing, I REMEMBER putting Vash back into the pan after I washed it out 'cause it looked vaguely confused. I was amused that it looked "er?" (much like Orlando Bloom) and then sprinkled some fish flakes on top.

Then I ran around getting stuff together for the retreat and then I ran out the door.

The fish flakes are still there, floating.

Somehow that's sadder than anything else.

[update5]

Expanding search parameters to 5m around last known location.

[update6]

...hairballs on floor. Still no fish.

[update7]

::ponders:: If it ascended, think it'll be back, come Easter?

[update8]

Roommate has returned and reports no fish sighting as she was gone for the week as well. As she is not prone to practical jokes or random thievery I am inclined to believe her.

We are suspecting the landlord.

*blinks* That is so weird. *blinks again*

*tries to come up with plausible theories as to the cause of the missing fish*
