- Saiyuki: [livejournal.com profile] psychodragon82 links to Saiyuki doujinshi that look good!

How good, you may ask? Look (click for bigger):

And apart from a couple panels, they look very Minekura-accurate. I detect some panels that possibly are traced from her manga itself, which amuses the hell out of me, because lookit! It's like AU vidding!

- Saiyuki (58): [livejournal.com profile] ciceqi's Fulfilled (Better Than Satisfied) - a languid contemplation

- Saiyuki (39): [livejournal.com profile] cicer's Seven Deadly Sins, lovely and true to character

- Harry Potter(Ron/Pansy): [livejournal.com profile] helga_b some awesome fics

- Hans Christian Andersen: Fairy Tales and Stories (English Translation) - in all it's original creepy goodness!

- [livejournal.com profile] keelywolfe links to awesome Batman scans! - I would recommend you gawking at the last scan and then looking at the others. If the last one doesn't catch your attention...

- [livejournal.com profile] aubrem: Wherein Fandoms = Nations. FYI [livejournal.com profile] cathexys and [livejournal.com profile] elke_tanzer? I consider you the Fandom BBC. ::bows::

- speaking of which: [livejournal.com profile] metabib - "archives a fanfic meta links list and a fanfic and fandom academic bibliography."

- [livejournal.com profile] peasant_ : Don't eat your young - Or Newbies and Critique. To which I can only say: HELL YEAH. 'Cause see, there's helpfulness and there's non-helpfulness; Roses and Thorns, yanno? And if you can't give a rose, don't give a thorn, ESPECIALLY for a newbie. It's like expecting a baby compose a sonata; ya ain't gonna get it, and one shouldn't critique it like it was meant to be a masterpiece. But if a composer creates crap...well, one figures they should have enough experience by then to handle it, or even actively look for helpful criticism.

- Online Dating Meets Cybersex - "a proprietary chat client and tele-dildonics". ::is so so amused::

- Post Secret: "an ongoing community art project where people mail-in their secrets anonymously on one side of a homemade postcard." (Someone should do a multi-fandom ficathon based off these...)

- [livejournal.com profile] kim_cc posts a neat personal mythology

Aaaugh, those Batman scans are so painful. I've seen them so many times, but it still makes me shudder.

The artwork in that doujinshi is stunningly beautiful, but I can't tell you how much hate Hakkai the weepy uke. What the hell is with that? It's like Vash the weepy uke in Trigun, it seems to be the default setting for most doujinshi circles, and it bears no relation to the character in the manga at all. I just can't enjoy the artwork when the story sucks.

Grrrrr.

Thank you for all the great links! The doujinshis were beautiful, and the [personal profile] ciceqi story was great.

Keep pimping!

*brain implodes* That's... so Minekura-like, the only thing tipping it off is the positions the ink job. :DDDDD YEY 39~ <3

RE 'don't eat your young' = very sound advice and perspective. XD Although I still want someone to wax eloquent about why the hell nobody feels like applying those impossible standards to FANART.

But, I mean, what does that /say/, that people think they have no business critiquing art but feel like they're perfectly qualified to rip written pieces to shreds?

I mean, I was an art major, not an English major... so it just feels all kinds of backwards to me. (But of course most people aren't either one of those... which still makes me curious.)

I would love to start a huge drama-infested discussion on this, but no one really seems to want to take me up on it. XDDDD

Have at, if you are so inclined. XD
