First, updated
kanzeyori again with fics and vids finally. ::headdesk:: I *still* have to update
permetaform_rec though it's kinda scaring me because, like, I've recs going back to JANUARY.
o.0 This is ridiculous. I produce more recs than I can ever archive, and that's not counting the heaping amount I *lost*...::headdesks:: when I grow up, I'm gonna gets me a secretary. And I'll pet him and love him and call him George. ::sighs::
Meanwhile,
Epiphany!
oh god.
oh god oh god.
This is after Trinity. This is after Aurora. This is after fucking The Hive.
fuck. Fuck.
This is after trust issues and then making up and then Rodney near killing himself to get to John and Teyla and Ronon which John may or may not know about.
This is a panicking Rodney who meets up with science that does not make sense, this is a team separated by two feet and way too long, this is a John who trusts (on some level trusts, no matter his initial logic and despite his better senses, ie. like Trinity) that Rodney *will* have his back in crisis situations, and yet Rodney *wasn't* getting to John despite maybe those two feet.
And oh my fucking god, John babbling and ranting and rambling at himself. Like as if he's trying to fill up empty Rodney-space with his own voice. ohgod.
On other notes: bless Ronon and Teyla both in this, gahhhh. Ronon with his loyalty, and GOD I see that with the potential to go haring off in the direct oppositely just-as-bad direction as Ford, and Teyla with this increasingly cool vibe she's getting with Rodney and
Wheat. huh. OMG JOHN ARE YOU ORALLY FIXATED OR WHAT. (he's just missing his usual chew toy, you know. ;D)
Heh, took a month for him to get laid...ohhhh John, you're getting rusty. ;D Though honestly I think he's default's like "intimate friendliness" which makes him pretty damn infinitely both shippable and slashable 'cause he vibes with *everyone*. He's sorta one of those that you can't really use the, "But he has chemistry with (character)!" argument 'cause, you know, vibes *everywhere*. XD
And oh god, Weir. She so wants to help and be useful, it's like that moment in Siege when they found something (I think it was Wraith language) that needed to be translated and she just *lit* *up*. It breaks my heart in a way because you see her getting so worn down with command sometimes, even as she glints at times, and so few times she *shimmers* (that "I *know* this" shimmer, where you know that she's in her element) and.
...oh! Huh, most of those times she shines brighter are when she allows herself "take no prisoners"-type negotiations, Genii and SGC command and Caldwell. o.0 So she *can* pull rank in a way, she just never excercised it in Atlantis during the crucial period when Sumner just died. It's like she'd recognized that they would be more effective if she simply enabled her people to do their jobs (who are AWESOME, and I'm speaking of her people in regards to the expedition, though the term would not be admiss had I referred to "her people" like Teyla's "people") rather than attempting to lead them by the nose. Granted, it's a non-conventional leading style that only works in specific situations, and granted it's very much a glory-less job, but I'm so glad they had it that way.
And with her jumping in! Gah, it's like John is her favored son and Elizabeth is sparking and all "yay, I can finally HELP", and I'm thinking "oh Elizabeth what are you doing?" and also that, dude, that possibly means she's either the leading linguist at Atlantis or that she's the best versed in Atlantean. Given that she must have picked up Atlantean in a freakishly short amount of time when juggling SGC miscellany during the tranfer-of-power bruhaha in SG1, I wouldn't be surprised that the former means the latter.
(And at the end, wow. o.0 That's *such* a mom-vibe I'm getting between Weir and Sheppard. Not that they don't have chemistry, but mom-vibe too like WHOA.)
EEE! AND THEY'RE CONTINUING THE CADMAN STORYLINE. W00T! She delights me to no end, probably because I'd imagine that she'd be one of those who wouldn't be cowed by Rodney's assholeyness no matter how bitchy he gets considering that she rode shotgun in Rodney's body for awhile and honest to god I just want her to have whomever she sets her sights on be it beckett or rodney or both at once.
God SGA, you surprise me with my character love. I don't even *like* blonds.
And the shadow thingy!!! That's the most McGuffin-y McGuffin EVER. Even Sheppard says so. XD
And also? Ancients really get pissed off at Rodney eh? (or just the ones that try to steal John away from Rodney? ;D) And hey, John looks off to the side (where *Rodney's* standing) before saying "no Ascension for me ma'am, kthnxbye"! This amuses me greatly, even if it *is* a random ::cough:: eyeshift.
And just...that moment at the end, when John realizes that he wasn't betrayed by his people, that they all *came* for him within *hours* and not months, that he wasn't abandoned. His epiphany. And the fact that it *was* such a relief to him is an epiphany about himself and that! That. Oh. ::adores:: pitch perfect.
Oh.
I. am. breathless.

::flails with you:: And he just, John just didn't expect them already THERE, under his skin you know? And then they *alll* came to save him and he's like..."yeah I kinda just missed you and omg lets leave before I wibble like a little girl"
That's really the indulgent, amused, 'boys will be boys' look. Oh yes.
Heee! not only that, but I think it's sorta that look when you know, kids get themselves facepainted in primary colors and they're like "YAY" and the moms are like ::smile and nod::
