::hyperventiliates::

So like, sometimes I dreamed of being able to read a fic and, y'know, mentally rec it to my flist.

I think this is the next best thing.

Holy. Fucking. Shit.

I can link to stuff with just several mouse-clicks. ::awe::

::fucking awe:: I've been playing with this for the past hour. There's already over 139 cross-referenced recs in there.

cross-referenced.

I.

This.

::boggle::

I think. I think I'll actually move the entire body of [livejournal.com profile] permetaform_rec onto there because holy fucking shit. cross-referencing.

For backing up bookmarks: there are a couple of ways of doing it, but the simplest way is to go to your del.icio.us page, make sure you're logged in, and find the 'settings' link on the upper right hand of your screen. (It should be next to the 'logged in as ___' text.)

Once you're displaying that, there should be a bar on the right hand side of the screen that has a bunch of options. One should be 'export'. Click that and another window that says HTML export should come up. Make sure both boxes are selected, then click the 'export to HTML' button. You should be able to save this file to your hard drive and then import it with whatever browser you use with intact tags and description. (To be fair, I've only done this with Firefox myself, but the URLS and metadata survive in the HTML file and the bookmarks were almost perfectly clean when I tried reimporting them into my browser.)

(Er! Sorry to hijack this thread, but I thought this might help a little, as a lot of the solutions in the sites you listed below are way, way technical and complete overkill.)
