I am way more sane now. YAY! Move has been completed and RL is moving towards balance and I'm thinking of dipping my toes into fandom again.

This has been greatly helped by the squee of visiting hippediva and smutcutter the other day, and an AWESOME time was had by all. (::pokes kyouichi:: Dude, we need to get together to squee about maldoror_gw's Kindred, among other things)

And on the matter of sliding self back into fandom, well, vidding. It's always vidding. Fandom of my heart, and despite my not being able to collect myself enough to submit a vid this year, I am very excited to see people again at vividcon, and! And!

I am selling myself on Sweet Charity. =D All funds go towards The National Marfan Foundation.

You can still go to sign up to be sold until July 10th. Bidding goes from July 11, 2006 (00:00) to July 31, 2006 (23:59).

I am willing to vid any song. I am willing to vid any movie. I am willing to vid any series, *provided* you're willing to send me source (downloaded source or Ti-Vo is fine), and I'm willing to reimburse you cost of postage plus a couple dollars for the discs. [Note: The series I have in full is SGA. You won't have to worry about footage if your idea is in that fandom.]

MY personal deadline is to get your vid to you by October, but I am stating the November 30th deadline because certain school deadlines are yet to be set in stone and I'd like the wiggle-room.

I vid in multiple drafts and rough cuts. If you would like, I can send the 5 most different drafts to you either in-progress or at the end of the process or not at all. Your choice. I am also very very interested in your input on the vid-drafts, should you wish to participate in the beta process.

My personal goal? To tailor the vid to your tastes, I will not call the vid "done" until you are deliriously happy with it. =)

Anyhoo, by next week I should be fully settled and able to respond to the various emails and to update vidder_weekly properly.

There's so much to post, but...huh. There's a distinct lack of trepidation about posting. I haven't felt this way in months. w00t? ::wry grin::

Oh! And, ::points:: new default icon since...sometime. I'm still looking for another John icon of a blue-greenish hue looking contemplative. If ya'll see one can you point it out to me? I would love you muchly. =D

Hey, do you have source material for SG-1 or The Sentinel? I'd really, really like a Daniel and/or Blair vid to a particular song, assuming, of course, that I can find the song again. It's a humor song, called something like "The Wimp Song," with lyrics about how the singer lets everyone walk all over him. I'd love that super-imposed over scenes of either or both being violent and generally un-wimpish, because the baby!Blair and baby!Daniel fanon drives me nuts.

SG-1 is considerably easier for me to get my hands on via stargate_eps, HOWEVER, because of the massiveness of the series, if you get me for this vid I'd definately have to have you help me pick out episodes that you'd like for me to use. I wouldn't personally be able to watch all the source; if I did I wouldn't have the time to properly dedicate myself to vidding your vid. ::wry grin::

When I see you post about vidding, it makes me wish I could. I've started to pick up on things I've seen you mention, in commercials and trailers and such and the like - movement on the beat, that sort of thing. But I really wouldn't have the faintest clue where to start. I just sit back and envy people who have the talent, and wish I could make one appear by magic.

There are bunches of icon posts listed on sga_newsletter every day, and you can find great stuff there. I was just over here (http://belisse.livejournal.com/120733.html) and there are some nice John icons... a couple of them are greenish and contemplative, I think. I got this icon there. Because I really had a deep need to affirm John's status as a sex symbol for the Pegasus Galaxy.

Hmmm... I may have to jump on that, if I can scrape together the money. Because I've always thought that someone (and by "someone" I mean, "someone with actual vidding talent and better editing software than my sucky windows movie maker") should do a John Sheppard SGA vid to "Ring of Fire."

Sheppard. Famous Johnny Cash song. Lots of glowy stargate-as-ring-of-fire footage. And alien bimbos could hit on him.
