::looks pitiful::

I am in dire need of some new work music...in specific some fast techo-trance. In more specific, I would adore you to *death* if you happen to have this series of techno remixes of classical music. Or that one girl that playes electric violin. Or, actually, anything by Apocalyptica.

(or, actually, if you know of/have anything in this trend of modern-classical music I would greatly adore it...)

I once had an awesome mp3 of a heavy metal band playing Grieg's "Hall of the Mountain King," but that was one hard-drive death ago, and I've since lost it.

I've got one Trans-Siberian orchestra song (Mephistopheles' Return) that I could email you, but that's about it. My music collection tends towards country, show tunes, and 80s/90s rock (and hip hop scrounged off my sister's ipod).

I have Vivaldi's "Storm" techno-ified and (I'm guessing) much shortened. Want me to send it?

I have a lot of Apocalyptica, and possibly a few others.

This is chikkiboo, by the way. I'm logged into an account I use for playing a silly rpg and don't feel like logging out... sorry

Hrmmm. I have a version of Toccatta and Fugue in D Minor, (otherwise known as A Night on Bald Mountain) by Vanessa Mae. I also have some interesting blends of ambient and orchestra from Hybrid. Original pieces though, not rehashes of classical standards. Hybrid is really good for that. Their latest album I Choose Noise? Is evil in that type of brilliant mix of old and new sounds.

Will those suit you? *grins*

I'm going to do a music post tonight or tomorrow, so keep an eye out -- I'll put some techno in it for you :D

I love stuff like that. I don't have any of it uploaded or on this computer at the moment, though. (And are you thinking of Vanessa Mae?)

Anyway, although this isn't exactly along the same lines, maybe some of the stuff I uploaded for someone the other day might be fun:
http://www.sharedwing.net/mp3/japanese/

Rising, Nikata, Labyrinth, and Panther are all modern tsugaru, played on the shamisen. Tsugaru Apple Mix is a DDR verson of tsugaru. Festivo is good too (it's from the closing scene in the Beat Takeshi "Zatoichi").

Vanessa-Mae would be "that girl who plays electric violin." And I have some of her stuff, but I'd have to scour my CDS for it.

I have all of Bond's CDs, if you consider that modern-classical enough and you don't already have them. Not techno, but very similar to Vanessa-Mae (the girl who plays electric violin).

I'll gladly rip them for you.

. . . if you get sent any files via yousendit.com, I will sort of stalk them, is that all right? Because WOW is that totally my type of music, except I don't have any. =(

You are made of awesome.

I *do* have a lot of Apocolyptica, but it's on a different computer as of right now: if I have time after finishing my Mandarin homework, I shall stalk the hard drive and find them for you. :)

This is the ony Apocolyptica song I have on the laptop: http://download.yousendit.com/06FB23FB0A4457F6 - Until It Sleeps, I dunno if you already have it.

Also, dunno if this' what you got in mind, but: http://download.yousendit.com/5AE5343E585C1632 - it's that one song from Mirrormask with the creepy doll things.

Um, also, do you like Nightwish, by any chance?

I have a few Apocalyptica songs from Cult and all of their self-titled album, though it doesn't seem that oyu'll need help with gathering them. As for the rest.....

Gregorian Chant covers of rock? House/voice collage stuff a la The Books? Le Tigre (for the fastbeat factor)? Deep Thinkers and Hood and Telefon Tel Aviv for house/trance (downbeat, though, dunno if that's what you want)? Poe? I'd offer Prodigy but all I have I got from you...

How much tATu do you have (again for the upbeat electronic-ish ness)? Want random Romanian-language dance tracks of dubious origin? Have you been introduced to the driving, undeniable force that is High And Mighty Color (japanese and english language)? How about ORANGE RANGE? What about Origa (this one you're not allowed to say no to)?

And on the randomphone end of things, how about E Nomine for some good hard German rock?

OMG. You realize this kind of music is my soul mate, right? I am stalking this post when my head doesn't feel splodey. Yes, Vanessa Mae. And Bond. And Maksim does stuff with piano, which can hit the spot but doesn't touch me like Bond and VM do. I love Bach Street Prelude from VM, it's so cute. And Explosive killed me the first time I heard it. Um. I'll be more productive at you about this hopefully tomorrow?

*LOFF*

Apocaliptyca is love. Can I recommend Rhapsody (or Rhapsody of Fire) to you? :) They are a symphonic&epic metal band with strong influence of classical music (Vivaldi, Bach etc). You can download The Wizard's Last Rhymes or Symphony of Enchanted Lands, for example.
And thank you for the various mp3s! *grabs everything* :DD
Monday, September 18th, 2006 12:20 pm (UTC)
here's a zip of vanessa mae's cd storm (http://www.sendspace.com/file/mdyvye) - hope it's what you're after!
Monday, September 18th, 2006 03:56 pm (UTC)
I'm just beginning to explore that kind of music myself, so I don't have anything to offer, but I will be downloading if you don't mind. ^__^ Thanks for putting them up on your server!

I've got some William Orbit (http://www.google.com/musica?aid=nsaHeXCrS4E&sa=X&oi=music&ct=result) if you're still looking for techno-classical. It's on the other computer but if you can wait a couple of hours, I'll upload it. (I've got access to a lot of other techno but it's mostly >5 years old, and mostly the SO's, and most of what I actually know isn't very fast.)

~ waves hello ~

I am always looking for another lj to stalk read, especially if it contains any Saiyuki fics. I notice that you have quite a bit in your 'memories' but a good deal of them are locked. If you wouldn't mind, I'ld sure like to paw thru them. XD

I'm uploading it for you. AND I put the Hybrid stuff in the booty\tunage folder. (tunage for *music*)

Wandered past to grab a link to vidding for newbies (which, as a newbie vidder and someone talking to other newbie vidders, *thank you*) and saw 'apocalyptica' so I am grabbing a few. Thanks!
