vid update

So I'm getting around the funky export problems by exporting in super-small chunks (ie. by cut) and only frame-by-frame exporting the high problem areas.

Come to think of it, I'm not really surprised that my computer is freaking out. Every clip of my vid is position/scale tweaked, every clip of my vid is color tweaked, about 25% of it timewarped, and then you have situations like this:

See those keyframes? That's for one clip, and I have sixteen of these types of clips (of various lengths) in my vid. That clip was originally blue, ~23% less zoomed out, and has 3 layers.

Sorry for replying so late, it needed all my brain to process the information (I find that I'm still a newbie vidder when it comes to special effects). Thanks a lot for the information. I might try to test it in my program *always eager to learn something new*

nahh, it makes sense. My brain explodes on a regular basis, the only way it survives is 'cause I take breaks and just binge on ff.n fic for awhile.

As for trying this stuff out, try out the basic idea first. It's usually the effect that they put on tv/movies when they want a "memory" effect or a "dreamlike" effect.

Hi :) This is quite an old entry, internet-wise, but I'm trying to understand what you're doing. I've got Ulead, and I don't think it has that Sixteen-Point-Garbage effect.

But anyway, I don't even understand what's the "basic idea" :/ (Tackling the additional problem of trying to figure out German-titled effects from English ones of another software).

You have two different pictures in this image, right? Or not? Did you manage to tweak only the left side of a clip? I'll love you eternally if you could give me more tips *majorly confused, reading more memory entries in the vidding group*

eh np. here, do this:

bottom layer = random clip

top layer = SAME random clip plus three effects:

1) brightness/contrast = raise both levels to around 20 or higher

2) gaussian blur (or just 'blur') = around 30

3) opacity = 30%


That'll make the source look dreamlike. Try that first, don't worry about what it is, just try it first.

Or, actually, if you have photoshop, you can try the same thing in there, and you'll see the dreamlike effect.

Late again - thanks, I tried it and it works :)) I think what really made my mind boggle was how you managed to use the effect on only the left half of the clip, but I guess without that special effect this won't work here for me.

P.S. Just saw your final Equilibrium vid and it's great! Woah!

pshhh, you're never late; I have straights of time where I don't answer any comment and then I answer like 100.

The effect constrained was placing a "garbage matte" before the gaussian blur effect; or really any matte will do, but "garbage mattes" give more control.
