[profile] ceria_taliesin! Will-fic-a-thon fic for you!

fucking HELL but this is strange, just to warn you...(it's a five part ficlet series, consider Sunstroke to be part one; parts two, four, and five are in production...)

NOTE: Some bits might make more sense if you've read Sunstroke first.

There was never a sound beside the wood but one,
And that was my long scythe whispering to the ground.
What was it it whispered? I knew not well myself;
Perhaps it was something about the heat of the sun

1) am thoroughly satisfied and brilliantly happy
1a) despite a redonkulous over-use of slo-mo

2) watching it on Digital Light Projection is AWESOME BEYOND WORDS

3) While I have certain reservations about the movie, this review sums up my thoughts rather well:

"When you order an extra-large pizza with "everything," it damn well better be delivered with everything. To close this silly analogy: At World's End is that pizza. It gives you everything you want from a Pirates of the Caribbean movie, and if doles out just a few too many toppings and a couple of 'em spill off the plate, well, that seems like a pretty wacky thing to complain about."

So, ya'll realize that Dead Man's Chest was reaaaaaally thorough in their research?

And like, [livejournal.com profile] th_nightengale meta'ed really much a lot about that dice game, Perudo, they were playing, it's historical accuracy, and how it relates to characterization of Will, [spoiler character], and [spoiler character].

Her post is here: so about them dice...

And we're pretty sure as to the dice-faces and to the bets that actually occured in the game, seeing as we've watched the game five times already (::covers eyes:: I know, shaddup), and took paper notes.

In other news, PotC:DMC looks REALLY FUCKING AWESOME on digital projector.

That is all.

holy shit am tired.

BUT DUDE! SO MUCH FUN! Spazzy fun at [livejournal.com profile] sunset_sailors (Sailing Into the Sunset '04) and there was sailing (and a huge sunburn) and FINALLY met [livejournal.com profile] linaelyn (who turned into Jack! Whee! And at whom I'd swear I'd explode and totally ruin the big surprise but I'd restrained and OMG THE PICTURES ARE GOING TO BE HILARIOUS...we should make a .gif...) and met [livejournal.com profile] ponderosa121 who was great, ahem, added graciously to a pirate coloring book (Now, with BUGGERY!), which will be scanned, the vibrant [livejournal.com profile] monkeypuzzle and [livejournal.com profile] hazelhawthorne and being all cute, and the awesome conspiritorial [livejournal.com profile] gryphons_lair (with one of the BEST costumes ever!), and [livejournal.com profile] fabu! ::GLOMP:: dear dear [livejournal.com profile] fabu I'm am ashamed to say that I expected you with red-hair too...::abash'ed::

And of course the ritual watching of Pirates of the Caribbean. Wow. Man, I'm all aflustered with pirate feeling again, peeking above that wry nostalgia that fandom gives me. Might actually pick up those lapsed fics again. =)

Speaking of which, the challenge drabble that was incomplete before I had to leave yesterday:

- Roger Ebert write Neat things on fans and being a fan.
- Speaking of Ebert, in his review of Mr. And Mrs. Smith:
As the movie opens, they're in marriage counseling; the spark has gone out of their relationship. On a typical day, they set off separately to their jobs: He to kill three or four guys, she to pose as a dominatrix while snapping a guy's neck. Can you imagine Rock Hudson and Doris Day in this story? Gable and Lombard and Hepburn and Tracy have also been invoked, but given the violence in their lives, the casting I recommend is The Rock and Vin Diesel. In the opening scene, they could fight over who has to play Mrs. Smith.

Sorry. Lost my train of thought.
